Why Most of Your Diets Always Fail

A 22-year-old girl who came down to consultation with ESCASO® last week said she was following a fruit diet for the last 1.5 year's food she reduced almost 10 KG within this period. Because of profound acidity and she started vomiting in the morning. Her periods were irregular, and they investigated to find her PCOD. I asked her to stop dieting and eat normal food. In about two months, she has regained all the lost weight and an additional 5 KG, which is 15 kgs.

On a detailed consultation after body composition analysis, we found that her lean mass or muscle mass was comparatively very low as required per her age and her fat percentage was over 47%, which is an abnormally huge percentile.

I got her to sit down and asked her to answer a few questions and got her thinking ... she says she never thought about these

  • Why do you want to lose weight?

  • When you reduced your weight which weight did you intend on losing?

  • What is your necessary muscles which are developed as per your activity and food habits or your extra and unwanted fat?

  • Why did you gain 15 KG in 2 months of normal eating when you took almost 1.5 years to reduce 10 KG?

  • How did you get PCOD?

  • Why are you bloated and have high acidity levels?

She did not have answers to any of these questions. She came down thinking of losing weight somehow with ESCASO® ... and she is willing to do anything to reduce. Willing to starve herself? Or eat only fruits or any powder? Ready for almost anything, except consuming actual foods and eating well. The very thought of food puts a big stress on her.

This is exactly the reason why many of you cannot follow eating habits for the long run. Have you ever thought of what would happen to our bodies if we do not have the right nutrients in the right place? It would lead the body to reduce its own metabolism. For example, when we reduce the food we consume, automatically the body reduces vital functioning levels of cardiac activity resulting in reduced blood circulation, respiratory activity, muscle activity etc.. we will feel tired and low in energy. The body takes more energy from muscles rather than fat stores. Body also takes precautionary methods to store what it can from it’s feed. This is why there are many people telling that they would increase weight when they starve. This is not an optimal condition and the body develop cravings. This is not a case of a flaw in willpower, but these make people overeat and toss their hormonal activity haywire.

Hence it’s important to eat your regular, normal food for optimal functioning of your body regarding physiological, psychological well-being even when you are trying to reduce weight and gain health. GDDiET enforces to inculcate your regular eating habit and correct your flaws for long-lasting results considering your current lifestyle and medical reports.

Over the years, there has been millions and millions of people who have tried countless numbers of different diets to lose weight. Equally, there have been millions and millions of people who failed at these diets. If these diets are supposed to make you lose weight, then why do you think most of them cannot do that? Why is it that no matter what diet you try, it never seems to work? Perhaps the diet itself was not good. Maybe it was too expensive to stick with as in with the use of food supplements. Maybe there was no support. Possibly, it just seemed too difficult to follow a particular diet such as a juice diet or fruit diet, and these could also cause potential damages if you stick with it for a long period just as I mentioned earlier.

Surprised? Don’t be. In reality, it all boils down to one simple yet complex reason. Yes, there is really only one thing that stands between you and your weight loss and that one thing is; your unawareness to the right reason of why you grow obese. Its often misunderstood that obesity or weight gain is due to overeating when the right reason is deprivation of the right nutrients from actual foods. Its most important to feed your body right for its optimal functioning. Yet most people who want to reduce weight, always try to avoid actual food. This leads to cravings in the long run. Many who had earlier tried to reduce food, now overeat or choose foods unwisely which often is one of the many reasons “diets” don’t work in the long run. While these typical diets work to give some results in the short run, they can not work longly. In order for sustainable results, we need to inculcate a healthy eating pattern that can help us in the long run. Always focus on sustainable results, rather than short-term goals. Its these short term or fast, quick methods that cause havoc in the normal functioning of our body leading to lifestyle diseases. The necessity and requirements of real nutrients and actual food for our body is far more than (overcomes )the desire (will power) to lose weight in a short span. This is not a willpower game. Hence its not possible to continue “typical diet plan” with calorie deficit meals or starving.

Most people often think diets fail because people decide to let themselves go back to their former eating habits rather than making the changes necessary to lose the weight and keep it off and maintaining those changes. But, that isn’t the truth. It may sound too simple and maybe a little hard to swallow, the truth often is, but that, my friend, is the plain truth.

It's often said that “Dieting is a hard and difficult journey that must be done step by step, little by little. Hence we also find people telling us we cannot do the diet as there can be and often are all kinds of setbacks and pitfalls that can trap you, particularly during an endeavour that takes so much time and effort. Just one slip, one temptation given into, and your whole struggle for weight loss is sabotaged and we have to avoid or skip all our favourite foods or even staple food like avoiding rice, and even tasteful bites”. We also hear clients who come in for the first time tell us they had all foods they like the previous day coz they are starting on a diet plan.

We at ESCASO® helps to break the common myth by creating the right awareness about actual food. ESCASO® GDDiET® is about eating actual food based on genuine science. We don’t have to avoid any actual food. We educate you on the power of actual foods and how they work on you. We teach you on how to find the right timings, right quality and combination of food for its optimal functioning depending on your present lifestyle. It's not rocket science and can easily be learnt with TIME. This is simple. Only then will we be able to create wholesome health and manage our weight with sustainable results.

In order for any diet to be successful, it must have a firm foundation. Sound foundation with actual foods. With a firm foundation, it will be easier to hold your ground when those little pitfalls come along to tempt you. There also must be a solid, simple, easy to follow the flexible plan. Without a good plan, you will just be grasping at straws and going in all different directions. You need a plan to help guide you in the right direction at all times.

In order for any diet to be successful, it must have a strong foundation. Sound foundation with real foods.

One thing that has helped many people who were successful with their diets was having the support of family members and friends. This can be a major asset that can help you stay with it. It is very important to change the eating and lifestyle of the whole family. Because changing eating habits and lifestyles are not only for weight loss but also for great health.

Probably the most important thing to remember is, never starve yourself, make sure you make room to eat the actual foods you like from time to time and make a little time for some moderate activity. Never call it an exercise. Because any activity is exercise. Any simple movement is exercise. Even household works are exercises. Your diet does not have to fail, and with a little help from you, it can succeed and that means, you can succeed.
